"Since moving in in October 2023, my father has settled in well. The nurses, carers, admin staff have all been professional, approachable and always go above and beyond. Have to mention one of the carers, in particular - she is always so happy to help and nothing's too much but have to say, all the carers are friendly and helpful."

"My brother is settling into Fairview well. He has been here a few weeks now and is enjoying the food and enjoying the company of others. There is plenty of entertainment going on throughout the day. He is also enjoying his own space in his room with staff popping in and out to see if he requires anything. All in all, we are happy with his care so far."

"Highly recommend this home, it's been a godsend for my family, taking Mum into the home who's got dementia, she gets all the help she needs, place is perfect, rooms are well furnished, meals are fantastic if there's nothing they like, they go out their way and make them something, and the staff can't be any more helpful, lots for them to do activities everyday good way to get them to meet new friends, Mum's been in since Dec 2023 but she's settling in."

"My mother has just completed one full year in Barchester Fairview House Care Home, Aberdeen. I have nothing but praise and thanks for all the staff. They often go the second mile doing little extras which make a lot of difference. They have tremendous patience, are cool in crises, always polite and friendly. As a regular visitor (for a year now), I have grown quite close to staff members and some residents and they have welcomed me into their home life. This week alone, I really enjoyed being part of the dementia group, reminiscing and witnessing a firework display in the lounge-cum-cinema while everyone was served hot dogs from the kitchen. This same week, the home got my mum new dentures and an x-ray in hospital. Keep up the good work - you are doing a great job!"

"I have seen an improvement overall in the past four weeks. The homes welcoming and the staff are more friendly. The nursing staff are excellent. The corridors in the wings do not have that "distinctive" nursing home smell so often. Overall, quite happy with the care being provided."

"The entrance home is secure and always 1 or 2 members of staff at the reception desk with a warm greeting on arrival and acknowledgement when leaving. Carers are excellent with Dad chatting with him and continuing support for him when he has been low this month, not eating and drinking very little and supporting my sister and I. Laundry does an excellent job washing 101 residents' clothes and delivering them back within a couple of days. The cleaning staff are always busy on the floor and rooms. Nurses are always available to explain about care and listen if I have any concerns and go act on them. The chef does a grand job."

"I want to say a very big 'thank you' to everyone at Fairview House Care Home. You are looking after my mother exceptionally well. Like so many people she never wanted to be in a care home, but when necessity forced the issue, you came to the family's rescue. Your professionalism, patience and pastoral care have been winning her over. The staff have gone the extra mile in very many ways. I sleep much better at night knowing that my mam is in capable and caring hands. In particular, mam and I had a great day on May 6th. We watched every minute of the Coronation of King Charles III in her room, then went to the dining room for the wonderful Coronation Party. Our compliments to the chef's team and the three activities organisers for the delicious food and a great party atmosphere. I haven't seen my mother so happy for years! As a visitor, I myself have been very warmly welcomed, and feel a real sense of belonging to a caring community. So thanks again."

"From the first contact with the team, I have found them to be very professional, friendly and courteous. They have shown knowledge of their expertise, second to none and have gone out of their way to be extremely helpful. The care home is lovely as are the rooms, being well appointed. It's early days for my mother but I'm sure she will gain a lot from the team once she properly settles in. A big thank you from me to the team at Fairview."

"Had private dining with my brother and the meal was excellent. The hospitality manager was so caring. The head chef created an excellent meal. Very good service. Have no hesitation in recommending Fairview to other residents' families. Staff are so kind, caring and hard-working. All staff are so helpful."

"Impressed with the high standard of home. The rooms are comfortable and well-equipped social/communal areas. The staff are welcoming and friendly and my uncle (resident) has a good bond with the staff. My family and I were invited to join my uncle for an evening meal. The staff made it feel like a really special evening for my uncle and family in a beautiful private room with a really nice table set with tablecloth, napkins, china, and background music playing and were told to stay as long as we wanted. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly."

"Fairview home is getting better now than when first arrived, staff are friendly, food is very good, it is a good menu as well. Needs more one to one with clients that don't like to interact. Rooms are a lot more cleaner makes a big difference. Could do with more staff, and references as to which staff colour uniforms as to which position held."

"I don't live in Aberdeen so am only able to see my dad for a few days every 3-4 months. I always find the care assistants and nursing staff very helpful. Sometimes it's hard to find a nurse for a chat, but this is because they're generally very busy attending to residents. The care staff have a good rapport with my dad at short notice, the "private dining" experience was arranged for us, which was greatly appreciated. We were also able to join the afternoon tea on Wednesday."

"Dad was admitted as respite care and then offered a full-time place. The nurse and three full-time carers have been very good to Dad and cared for all his needs. One carer even had the chef visit Dad to find out food he liked and told Dad he would make him real chips and when fish was on he would give Dad fish and milk, his favourite. Chef told Dad just to ask carers for sandwiches, yoghurt or cheese and crackers if he did not fancy anything on the menu. Front staff deal with queries promptly and greet you when you come in. The administrator has been excellent in dealing with things for me."

"Fairview Care Home has undergone many staff changes over the last few weeks and this has had an impact on the residents. In time they will get accustomed to the new faces but it will be a work in progress. The staff do their best under difficult circumstances. Many improvements are planned which will enhance the comfort of the residents."

"Towards the end of last year, we noticed that standards in the care home seemed to be slipping, and we were considering moving Mum to another care facility. The staff were lovely and working as hard as they could, but they were overworked, and we felt there were communication, general cleanliness and personal care issues in the home. However, a new management team, dedicated nurses and an increase in care workers have completely transformed our views. We met with the care team, and they listened to our concerns then worked hard to address them. We are continually kept up to date with how Mum is doing, her room is clean and tidy, and Mum is encouraged to join in with activities and be as independent as possible. She is visibly much happier, as are we as a family. The home now has a happy buzz about it, and we really don’t want Mum going anywhere else."

"Since my mum has stayed in Fairview, she has been a lot better in herself. There was a lot of pressure on the family looking after my mum, but since she went into Fairview, the pressure has been taken off. She is being well looked after, and she likes it in Fairview, which is brilliant for the whole family to know. The care that she gets is excellent, and when I go to visit her, I can see the difference in her after what she has been through the past few years."

"It is always a difficult time when your loved one needs more care than the family can provide. However, since my mum became a resident at Fairview she has been looked after so well by the carers, nursing staff and the activities team. She thoroughly enjoys the food and although she is quite happy in her room, will occasionally join in the various activities available. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful and I would have no hesitation in recommending Fairview to anyone who is looking for a nursing home for a member of their family."

"Caring staff, pleasant surroundings. Kept up to date regarding care, changes and medications. My uncle seems happy within himself, he feels safe. The activities staff are brilliant and my uncle has become quite attached to a couple of them. All in all we as a family are pleased with his ongoing care."

"Both of my parents who are in their nineties have been residents at Fairview for over a year now. I have always found staff to be most helpful, but particularly throughout 2020 and into 2021, when we have all faced major challenges to our lives due to the C19 pandemic. I cannot thank all staff enough - leaders, administrators, nurses, carers, activities staff, as well as those behind the scenes cooking, laundering, and cleaning etc. I can only imagine how difficult it has been caring for all residents amidst some of the anxieties and sorrows, as well as the pressures of maintaining government instructions. Each member of staff with whom I have communicated has been so helpful when I have needed them. Those visits which were allowed outside, and latterly inside, were appreciated by us as a family, and the video calls by activities staff have been delightful. This is a nursing home which seems to do all it can to support families and I would recommend it."

"Not only in my capacity as a Son but also as a Registered Nurse I cannot praise all the staff enough for what they have done for my Mother. Staff at all levels from the reception staff, admin staff, healthcare assistants, nurses, the events team, chefs and handyman have all demonstrated professional and sincere care. I personally believe this stems from the excellent management structure implemented by the management team at Fairview House. I would not even consider having my mother cared for at any other care home than Fairview House. The staff in all positions are always polite, cheerful and gone out of their way to go that extra mile to ensure my Mother's transition is as comfortable and pleasing to her as possible, especially in these testing times. It's a great weight off my shoulders knowing she is getting the best care available especially as I work away frequently."

"I am very happy with Mum's care. She is always kept clean and well presented, sometimes a challenge as she is not always co-operative. The staff in memory lane and throughout are lovely, smiling and cheerful. Mum has dementia but seems happy and settled owing to the work put in by carers and activities teams. Very satisfied by COVID precautions and how visits have been handled."

"Friendly approachable carers, management, all staff. My father's room is very spacious and airy, could not fault the upkeep of the room. He is very happy in the home and loves all his regular carers and nurses. Recently have got to know the activities team who have "bent over backwards" to make the garden visits a hassle-free and enjoyable time. Very well organised. Nothing but praises to your team and management."

"My mum has been in Fairveiw House for over three years and I can honestly say that she is treated very well, with the COVID 19 which has given everyone new strengths. I would like to say a really big thank you to all staff cleaning, catering, carers, nurses, admin and anyone we have forgotten. The fulltime activity has been fabulous FaceTime and visits so well organised she is a treasure and to the staff for all the phone calls keeping us up to date keep up the good work."

"We cannot thank Fairview House enough for all they did for my mum for the last two years of her life. We felt the nurses, carers and staff became her sons and daughters as I know she felt loved by them all. It was so hard for us not to get in to see her due to COVID in the months before she passed, but every day we knew she was safe, warm, and in the loving care of Fairview. Each and every member of staff went over and above their duties every step of the way. The cards we received from my mum, with the help provided by the staff during the COVID lockdown, will be cherished forever. The kindness and friendship shown to myself and my family was fantastic too, and they all became an extended family. When we are COVID-free, I will be going in for a coffee to again meet up with the staff. The entertainment and offerings provided put a constant smile on my mum’s face, and mine too. Can, and will, highly recommend."

"The staff at Fairview Nursing Home are simply marvellous. My uncle is a resident, and the care he receives is second to none. During this difficult time especially, the staff have kept in regular contact, keeping myself, and the family informed regarding his health and well-being. They sent letters every couple of weeks, to keep us updated on Covid and the steps they had, and are taking to protect all residents, staff and visitors. This has been extremely reassuring during these stressful times. The staff even arranged video calls, so I could see my uncle, and he could see me, which was so thoughtful and kind. The staff always find the time to talk to relatives regarding their kin, despite having very busy schedules, for which I’m extremely grateful. Thank you to all staff at Fairview - you are outstanding, and a credit to the group."

"I was fortunate to have my Aunt spend her last five months at Fairview House Care Home where she experienced loving care and attention from all of the staff and management, and her stay switched from a lonely existence to one of constant companionship that she developed with both staff and management. I found the staff competent, pleasant and cheery in nature and very attentive both day and night, and very importantly the food was excellent and I was able to judge this personally as visitors were generously given meals and snacks if they were present at the appropriate meal times. In summing up I would thoroughly recommend Fairview House Care Home to anyone who wishes their loved ones to be safe, happy and very well looked after and to participate in the many activities that are organised by the home for residents."

"Sadly my grandfather spent his last 5 days of his life here. However, the staff on the day of his death and the days prior were outstanding. On the day of my grandfather's death, the nursing staff were excellent and kept him comfortable and made sure the members of my family were taken care of. We were given refreshments and even lunch. The staff, including the manager, came into visit us and made sure we were all ok. Most importantly the staff treated my grandfather with dignity, even up to his last 30 minutes - by applying cream to his skin, re-positioning him in his bed and making him comfortable, it made his passing that bit easier for all of my family. I cannot comment on the care outwith what I saw, but going in and out of the building for a few days, I saw plenty of smiling faces from the residents and staff. Thank you to all the staff."

"I have to bring to your attention the care given by one of the male care staff at Barchester Fairview House Aberdeen. He is such a very caring, compassionate carer who has made it clear that he cares for all the residents in Memory Lane and treats them all with respect. He has the most gentle nature which seems to be quite soothing. So I shall also make a report to the home with the same information but I know that not all information suggested is acknowledged, not passed on to the appropriate staff but felt I had to inform of this very lovely person."

"My sister has health issues that make her reliant on the staff for her every-day-care. It is important to us as a family that her medical needs are met. I am extremely impressed with how the staff are with her, she is always saying how beautiful and kind they are and so attentive to her needs. The food she says is very good. There were some issues with her oxygen that the nursing staff went out of their way to rectify with external sources. I personally have felt very welcome on my frequent visits and all the management are very open and available to talk to. The manager has been extremely helpful and made me feel comfortable to come forward if I have any concerns of any kind. The suggestions I would make is to have some air fresheners, as I’m aware it can be very difficult to keep on top of odours with so many elderly people. Also, the garden area could be really nice for the non-smoking residents if it was made more accessible from the dining room."

"The level of attention and care Dad received while living at Fairview was second to none. The staff were friendly, approachable and nothing was ever a problem. In my opinion, they treated Dad like he was one of their own family, the level of dignity and respect was just amazing. I remember the first day Dad arrived and how friendly the staff were making him feel really welcome. It always stuck in my mind how they all knew his name and he was barely through the door again reflecting how good the staff were. Dad was always clean, shaved and smartly dressed and the rooms were always cleaned to a high standard. Thank you all for looking after Dad, I will always appreciate it."

"In the last 12 months, the care within Fairview has improved even more than previous years (if that was possible). This is due to an extremely low turnover of staff and management and a noticeable higher degree of training and implementation of memory lane improvement which has been done to a very high standard. Well done to all the staff for the last 12 months."

"I am an 82-year-old male, having had a double above knee amputation. My personal, physical problems are self-evident but all very satisfactorily dealt with by excellent staff, all of whom have a natural 'bedside manner'. Fairview is now my home and I could not wish for better."

"Very much a home away from home from the Management down. You have an impression of a happy ship which allows the staff and residents to relate to one another and feel secure in the knowledge that your relative is being looked after to the staff's maximum ability.
