Activities at Corrina Lodge Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Keeping Fit

Keeping Fit

Residents welcomed our newest activities coordinator by putting her through the paces in an exercise session.

The weekly exercise classes are extremely popular and very well-attended, as are the monthly tai chi sessions, run by professional instructor, Charles. Residents say having the opportunity to attend exercise classes within the home is great; they find the sessions very beneficial and great fun!

Residents are also looking forward to our new 'Wakeup Workouts', which will start soon.

Volunteers in Corrina Garden

Volunteers in Corrina Garden

Residents, staff, family and volunteers enjoyed a lovely day at Corrina's garden. We had the whole afternoon to enjoy our beautiful plants that we have grown this year. There is a variety of plants in our garden, from runner beans to a selection of hearbs.

The local community helped us harvesting our healthy carrot crop. Our chef was very impressed and is planning to make carrot and coriander soup for all to enjoy. It really is the’ Good Life’ here at Corrina!

68th Wedding Anniversary

68th Wedding Anniversary

Ron & Mary Ireland celebrated their 68th Wedding Anniversary at the home. Ron presented his wife Mary with a beautiful flowers. The Corrina community gave Mary and Ron chocolates treats to celebrate the special occasion.

One team member, asked Mary about the secret to such long and happy marriage. Mary replied with a cheeky smile ‘never divorce, nearly murder occasionally!’ Mary and Ron have lived happily together at Corrina Lodge for the last two years and are a truly lovely couple.

Fantastic Physio

Fantastic Physio

We are delighted and proud to say that Corrina Lodge is the only residential home in the local community to have its own in-house physiotherapists.

Adam, Sophie and his team visit twice a week, enabling residents to benefit from some excellent physio sessions to help rehabilitate and exercise muscles.

Resident, Dave, is pictured above being supported by the wonderful Sophie.

Residents are saying how beneficial this provision is and how refreshing it is to have such an amazing service.

Our physio service is included in our fees and is not an additional cost for anyone living here.
