"My uncle has been in Barchester Archview Lodge Care Home since the end of May. He initially went in for a week "to see how I like it when I do need to go in!" At that time his family believed he needed to be in permanently and gradually with the help and support of all the staff he was persuaded to stay and has now settled into life there. He has gone from spending up to 20 hours a day on his own, sitting in his armchair and eating microwave meals to taking part in the many activities, making new friends and enjoying fresh food once again. Typical of the comments I have received from relatives are "He looks really well", "It's like the old man we know", "Sounds like he is enjoying Archview"..... and to cap it all, we now know he is safe and we can sleep at night not worrying about him. Thanks to all at Archview."

"My mum has been in the care of the Memory Lane team since the beginning of January this year. The care and love that she has received since she was admitted has been outstanding. All the staff are so kind and caring from the manager to the nurses, care staff, activities girls, laundry staff, cleaners and the kitchen staff, nothing is too much trouble for any of them. Any medical problems are dealt with quickly and the nurses keep us well informed. Mum is always kept clean and tidy and is enjoying the lovely food. I have no worries when l leave as I know that she is being looked after so well by the amazing team. Thank you all so much."

"My dad has lived in Archview Lodge Care Home for 21 months now. His experience has been good and he has settled well. The activities provided are excellent and well-advertised. The food is amazing and plenty of choices. Family and friends are always made welcome. Staff are friendly and approachable, issues are taken seriously and addressed. The care is good and my dad's needs are met. His room is small and in need of decoration. His carpet is old and would be better with flooring. The ensuite needs redecorating too."

"My mother has been a resident at Archview for some time now. I am a nurse myself and in comparison to other settings, this care home is excellent. There is a real family warmth to this place. The staff are so welcoming and genuine. I can rest knowing that my mum is cared for in every possible way. I also have colleagues who have worked here and rate this service very highly. Amazing well run, a very high standard I can highly recommend this care home, Very happy indeed."

"My dad loved his eight days of respite at Archview Lodge Care Home. The meals were excellent. The rooms were very clean and warm. The staff were very friendly and professional. The only negative part of his care was that he received a washdown in his bathroom. He didn't get a shower. He loves getting a daily shower."

"The management are excellent - they've been very on the ball with helping my aunt in settling in and continually assisting and meeting her changing needs. The staff are excellent - caring, professional and doing all they can to help. They keep in touch and always carry out what they say they'll do, and with a positive, bright attitude. The activities are excellent, and it's great to see online what they've been doing."

"Mum came here in February and has had fantastic care and attention from wonderful staff. The family were concerned about mum going into a nursing home but that was diminished as we see her settling in so quickly."

"Archview Lodge is a very warm and caring environment, one full of laughter and light. I can usually hear my mum singing before I see her when I visit, I’m greatly comforted at how she enjoys life there. Throughout the initial process, I felt informed and supported by the wonderful staff, who were sensitive to both my mum’s needs and my own. I was constantly reassured that the correct decisions were being made and gained confidence and trust in the very professional care team. My mum was treated as an individual from the start. The staff know how to make her laugh, what she likes to eat, and the songs she likes to sing. Good company and music are central to my mum’s well-being and ‘essence’. The staff are preserving the very elements that make my mum who she is. I love my weekly visits to Archview and have a great relationship with all the staff, who all know me by name. I look forward to long summer afternoons in the garden and much singing and fun."

"My father spoke very warmly of the love and constant support from all the staff. He was a resident for nearly 18 months and regarded Archview Lodge Care Home as his home. The staff responded rapidly to his health needs and arranged for doctors and other medical staff to provide an excellent level of care. Despite the horrendous impact of COVID-19 the home managed to provide my father with a secure and safe living environment. Staff all wore PPE and arranged for him to receive the inoculations he needed to keep him safe and healthy. They also made it possible for me to visit him in a safe and supportive environment. He enjoyed his food and met other residents on a daily basis in the restaurant. The staff provided him with other menu options regularly when he wanted a lighter meal. His favourite was a cheese omelette, which he enjoyed on many occasions. Dad thanked me on many occasions for finding such a wonderful home for him with such a wonderful staff team."

"We are forever grateful that our mum got into Archview Lodge Carehome. Memory lane has truly been the best thing ever! Mum's quality of life has improved with all the care, support and respect she gets. She's much happier with the company of others and thoroughly enjoys the activities, entertainment, events, tasting sessions, basically everything that she can join in with. Staff are so lovely and caring which reassures us that she's receiving the best care. Management are friendly, professional and approachable. We would highly recommend this lovely home for your loved one."

"A relative was in Archview from May 2019 to September 2021. She was extremely well looked after by all staff. When she first moved in she was a wee bit unsettled, as she went straight there from hospital rather than going back to her own home. The staff made her feel extremely welcome and were always there checking on her, making sure that she could settle in at her own pace. She had her own things around her and she was able to have all her own bedding, just to try and make it feel homely. Everyone took time to get to know her and her likes and dislikes. She was never forced to mix or take part in anything if she did not want to. The care and attention of the staff overall were of the highest standard. I would recommend this nursing home to anyone looking for somewhere for a relative or friend."

"The love and care my mother received at Archview Lodge over the last 8 years was outstanding. Throughout all stages of dementia she was treated with love, understanding and respect. Each staff member contributed so much to Mum's quality of life and their dedication was fundamental in her care and happiness. Though living at a great distance, the staff kept me fully informed and had excellent communication. I could not have asked for better care for her and highly recommend this home."

"My mother moved into Archview Lodge 6 months ago, after she broke her hip and wrist, which meant she needed full-time care. The transition from assisted living to a care home is not easy, but the staff at Archview Lodge have been fantastic. My mother feels very well cared for and safe and there has been a consistent team of staff she has got to know since she moved in. The atmosphere is very warm and all the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Everyone's needs are met with great kindness and patience and they go out of their way to resolve any problems that might arise."

"Overall during the last year have seen a decline in mum's health. She has times when she's hallucinating and does not feel quite right. On these occasions the staff deal with her and her wishes. It is very upsetting to me but staff are very caring and considerate and tell me they deal with occasions like this all the time. When not quite right the GP is called and I am informed (mum been there 3 years now)"

"I like the appearance of the building and like the weather to sit in the garden, like having the entertainment. My health has improved with the good care. No more panic attacks. I can only say a really good team, I visit my dad about 4 or 5 times a week, perhaps early in the day or later in the afternoon, just when I can go, they are always looking after him really well. In his final few days the staff were fantastic in their loving, professional care of dad and me and they facilitated what was a very sad moment, making it calm and serene and peaceful. "Mum has been extremely well cared for as have the family. We have spent a lot of time over the past few months in Memory Lane visiting Mum and have been welcomed by all. You can't fail to notice time and care given to all and great patience shown. Sadly for us, Mum passed early April but again, palliative care (and care to us all) was second to none. Management were very proactive and all staff (reception/cleaners etc) were friendly and obviously take pride in their work."

"The standard of both physical and mental care my father receives is excellent. Care continues to be delivered to his individual needs in a gentle, friendly, yet respectful manner. All grades of staff endeavour to ensure the atmosphere is a happy one with lots of 'love' and laughter whilst maintaining a high level of professionalism. Meals are nutritious and well prepared with a varied choice. Relatives are always made to feel very welcome and are well informed about the health and well-being of their loved one. "My mother has now been a resident for nearly five years at Archview Lodge. I am very pleased with the care she gets as she gets progressively worse. The management team are very approachable, nursing team very dedicated, carers are young (most of them) but nice, caring girls and men. The kitchen staff make lovely meals and really try to please everyone and the cleaners do a good job and the laundry is always well done. Overall a very happy environment to leave an elderly relative."

"When my aunt first arrived at Archview, she took some time to settle. The staff were wonderfully patient, kind and understanding. As the team of staff were consistently the same for her 5-month stay we all got to know each other quickly. Throughout her stay, she was treated with dignity, kindness and as an individual. My aunt was continually offered choices (food, activities etc) and her decision was respected. I felt included in the care that she was given and never had to worry about my aunt. She was given a lovely quality of life."

"My Mother was admitted to Archview Lodge Care Home in June 2016 with a chronic ulceration to one leg in particular. This condition had been ongoing from 2015. Prior to her recent move, Mother received occasional treatment as an inpatient for five weeks in hospital in January 2016 when a nurse was available or the ulcers were leaking and Mother would ring for help. From Hospital she was transferred to an interim Care Home in February 2016 where she remained until June. The condition of the ulcers deteriorated significantly between February and June. After only three months in Archview Lodge Care Home, my Mother's leg is healed due entirely to the dedication of the Nursing staff. As a family, we have seen the photographic evidence. It was staggering. Need I say more ?"

"My mother in law became a resident in the home in August 2016. From the start, the staff have been very friendly to all visitors and are very caring to the residents. "Mum went into the home on August 19th, 2016. From day one, staff made her and us very welcome. Very supportive with all our questions which needed answering but most importantly to us, spent a lot of time with mum helping her settle. As mum has Alzheimers they also checked out everything with family and took the time to ask us questions about mum e.g. health and what would help her settle and her memories. A very relaxed, caring and on the ball staff. From our welcome at the front desk each and every visit to all staff (cleaners/handyman/auxiliaries), we bump into. As mum is in memory lane unit all the staff in there most of all. Definitely a great place for mum - meeting all her needs."

"Two years ago I was searching for a care home for my very elderly parents. Of the eight homes we visited, Archview immediately became the preferred choice. It presented an image of a warm, friendly and caring environment, where all the staff truly respected the residents and their needs. My parents were fortunate to be eventually accepted as residents in Archview, where they were able to spend their final years together with care and attention of the highest quality. All of the staff … the general manager, the nursing staff, the carers and all the ancillary personnel showed a personal interest in the residents. Most noticeably, they all appeared to enjoy what they were doing and nothing, not even the occasional special request, was considered to be an obstacle. Considering I live overseas and was not able to be with my parents immediately in the case of illness or emergencies, it was comforting to have the confidence that they were being looked after so well."

"My father was previously cared for, for a short time in another care home (different company). Sadly standards of care and hygiene were unsatisfactory. Thankfully a bed became available at Archview. During a visit to discuss transfer I became upset due to concerns over his welfare, the manager was very understanding and took on board my concerns and behaved in a very professional manner in regard to these. I was very happy that he was accepted and transferred. Since then he has received a constantly high standard of individualised care. Staff are caring, gentle and supportive to my father. Overall standard are very good in hygiene, activities etc. I am very happy for my father to live there. (It's like night and day!)"

"My mother has been at Archview Lodge for 4 years. I am extremely happy with her care. The staff are really caring and very friendly. My mother cannot communicate now and it very difficult for them and for me but they speak to me and it helps. The nursing staff are excellent as well and don't hesitate to get GP advice. They are all lead of course by an excellent manager. They also have an enthusiastic entertainment team, cleaners, laundry, gardener and DIY man, overall a very good team."

"Mum has stayed in Archview for almost a year now, from day one meeting the manager we knew we had made the correct choice. Mum is very happy and well cared for, she feels safe and has taken a new lease of life!! All the staff team from the manager down are very caring, professional, approachable and always friendly. They are very respectful to residents and their families alike. Residents are always treated with dignity and as individuals where their independence is provided. The staff go over and above the call of duty. There is always a fun, warm, homely atmosphere. A large part of the worry and stress has been lifted since mum has been starying in Archview. I feel our family has become a lot bigger, as not only has mum forged new friendships our family has as well. Hats off to all the staff of Archview Lodge"

"Our parents moved to Archview Lodge 8 months ago and very quickly settled in due to the professionalism and friendliness of ALL the staff and other residents. Our whole family are welcomed as participants in their new community, which we very much value. My sister and I both have POA and have been very much involved in their care and well being for several years. Archview Lodge consult our parents and us about their care needs and we are informed quickly and honestly of any incidents or concerns, so they are resolved as we would all prefer. Archview Lodge is a lovely, safe and happy place for mum and dad to remain together for as long as they can."

"All staff are very kind and helpful towards my parents and the other residents. There are regular meetings for both residents and relatives where information is disseminated and suggestions and opinions are welcomed, including input into the menus. My parents are very happy with the quality, quantity and choice of food provided. There are regular activities and entertainment involving friends and families of the residents as well as the wider community, which provide funding for ongoing residents entertainment. We were lucky to find anywhere that provided the care required and allowed my parents to remain together in the same room, after 60 years together it was not an option to split them up. We are all so grateful that not only do they remain together but that they managed to find a wonderful care facility in which to do so in Archview Lodge."
