Activities at Adlington Manor Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Lynne Bowler
I joined the activities team at Adlington Manor in May 2017. Previously, I have worked as a tree surgeon and have had heavy involvement with the Guides and Brownies. I love participating in activities with residents, whether that's by driving the minibus on trips outside the home, or by engaging in themed days.
I am passionate about my role and especially the challenge of coming up with new ways to engage as many residents as possible in our activities here.

Life at Adlington Manor Care Home
Preparing for the Queen's Official Birthday
In the build-up to the Queen’s official birthday celebrations, residents got involved in flower arranging and craft work. Here we see Chaz helping to make a tunnel inspired by the London Underground. We really enjoyed getting ready for our London day out-themed celebrations.
The Wincle Fête
Two of Adlington Manor's new overseas nurses helped out at the local Wincle Fête recently - their efforts were very much appreciated.
A Walk Amongst the Horses
We took advantage of the great weather by having a walk through our beautiful grounds. The horses were in the paddock and very pleased to see us!
Susan's Sax & Toffee the Dog
We were lucky to have Susan visit Adlington Manor with her saxophone, clarinet and Toffee the dog. She amazed us all with her saxophone and clarinet skills. The residents and staff really enjoyed the easy-listening music and sang along to some well-known classics. Toffee the dog (puppet) went down a storm and really added to the act! We look forward to seeing Susan and Toffee again!
Musical Deelites
The talented Musical Deelites joined us once again this week. Deborah has an amazing voice and the residents really look forward to her cheery and friendly ways. We can't wait to have her back to sing again!
Redesmere Lake
We enjoyed a trip to Redesmere Lake to see the rare breed ducks and duckings yesterday - and to enjoy an ice cream, of course!
