Lakeside Manor Care Home Crowns It's Latest Achievement

A milestone was reached at Lakeside Manor care home when a weathervane, to mark the home's topping out ceremony, was unveiled by Constable John Refault and Dr Mike Parsons, Founder and Chief Executive of Barchester Healthcare.

AC Mauger, the construction company delivering the large scale project, guided the weather vane into position to complete the topping out ceremony. The weathervane’s motif is of the cross keys of Saint Peter and the symbol of the new 60-bed care home’s parish.

Constable John Refault, said: “I am honoured to be here today at the topping out ceremony of Lakeside Manor - such a signature build for the parish of St.Peter - and it gives me great pleasure to unveil the weather vane that will put the new home firmly on the map!

“The financial commitment made by Barchester demonstrates its confidence inJerseyfor the future, which not only helps stimulate the construction industry but offers future employment opportunities for the local community.”

Lakeside Manor is designed by architect Robert Adam, a specialist designer of traditional and progressive classical architecture, and the impressive building is set to attract a lot of attention on the island with its two grand pavilions and prominent position.

The Lakeside Pavilions will house eight stylish two-bedroom independent living apartments each with a spacious balcony or terrace. Both apartments and the care home will be finished to an exceptional standard.

Adding to the successes of the well establishedLakesidecare home, which was acquired by Barchester in 2005, Lakeside Manor will provide further residential and nursing services as well as introducing dedicated dementia care to the neighbouring community.
