Barchester Building 14 New Care Homes by the End of 2012

BarchesterHealthcare, theUK’s largest quality care provider, will grow its already extensive portfolio by six percent annually, delivering 14 new care homes by the end of 2012.

Barchester has recently opened four brand new homes and Wadhurst Manor inEast Sussexis the next in line to open this autumn. Furthermore, through a mixture of leasing and self-funding, another 13 homes are on track to join the Barchester fold.

In total, these 14 properties will create 886 beds providing high quality care to their neighbouring communities as well as creating new jobs in the area.

Jim Fogden, Director of Acquisitions and Business Development atBarchester, said: “We aim to provide superior care in superior care homes. For us to do this, we have found that our best route is to source land ourselves in carefully chosen locations and then provide the best possible support to our staff who, in turn, then provide the best possible care to our residents.

“But at a time when bank funding is difficult to secure, we recognise that in order to fulfil demand for our care services and continue to expand the business, we must take a more dynamic approach.”
