Activities at Shelburne Lodge Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Shelburne Lodge Care Home

Garden Centre Trip

The residents of Shelburne Lodge decided to mark the Gardening week by embarking on a trip out to the Garden Centre at Nottcuts in High Wycombe. The residents went out to look for some ideas for the Shelburne garden so that residents and visitors will be able to enjoy the colour and the smell of our new sensory garden and new fresh flowers that we will be planting in the next coming days. The trip was a memorable experience for our residents and they finish their day with a coup of tea and coffee and of course a piece of cake. We cannot wait to show you our new garden soon ! Stay in touch and you shall all see!

Charity Walk

Shelburne Lodge Team's Inspiring Journey: "Walk for Funding Respite for Family Dementia Carers in Bucks" This weekend, our General Manager alongside some members of our dedicated team embarked on a meaningful journey from Chesham Clock Tower to the charity shop : The Hospice of St Francis in Amersham. With each step, we united in support of family dementia carers in Bucks, spreading hope, understanding, and compassion along the way. This sponsored walk was to raise awareness and funding for local charity Dementia Respite Carers Support Group.

Open Day

Here at Shelburne Lodge our team have been busy welcoming the local community into our home this weekend for our Open Day. The doors were open for a guided tour of our facilities, to meet our team and enjoy a hearty breakfast with us. This was a fantastic opportunity for people considering care to have a look round and see how fantastic life can be here at Shelburne Lodge. We look forward to welcoming you to our next open day.

Amersham Market

Shelburne Lodge Care Home, led by our dedicated General Manager Diana Nica and our Costumer Relationship Manager Bethany Fossard , had a delightful day participating in a community engagement event at the Amersham Market! Our hearts are full from the wonderful interactions we had with the Amersham community. Sharing smiles, stories, and laughter with everyone there truly reminded us of the power of community spirit.

5 Star All Round

A huge congratulations goes out to our catering team this week, for achieving a five star hygiene rating! The rating from the Environmental Health office, is the highest score a care home can achieve and demonstrates outstanding food hygiene standards . Head Chef Alex and his team have maintained this five star standard consecutively for the last few years. Alex and his team have worked tirelessly to achieve this incredibly high rating and should feel very proud of the hard work and commitment they demonstrate every day.

Performing Pigs

Guess who paid a visit to our Home, Shelburne Lodge last week? That's right, two little piglets came by and brought smiles to everyone's faces! Performing Pets regularly visit our home bringing animals for the residents to enjoy and cuddle. Thank you, Performing Pets for bringing these little piglets to our Shelburne Lodge Care Home.
