Activities at Chalfont Lodge Care Home

Chalfont Lodge is a large care home and we have a diverse range of groups and events to ensure that everyone feels welcome and included. In the Lifestyle team we work hard to create a sense of community and ensure there is always someone to talk to and something to do.

Our residents help us to plan the monthly lifestyle programme, making sure that everyone has something they like, enabling people to keep up with life long hobbies or pick up new ones. We have long term projects like our summer parties, car shows, BBQs, craft fairs, Christmas shows to mention a few and residents can be as involved as they would like in all stages of the planning or just come along and enjoy on the day.

We love going out on trips, to lunch, shopping or to socialise with other local groups, we also have many people who come into visit us with church services, music, talks and support for our bigger events.

We have a fantastic team of staff and every department is involved in making sure our residents get the most out of living here. We have a brilliant music therapist who works her magic 3 days a week, running group and individual sessions. Our Physiotherapy team keep everyone fit and active, working with us to make sure everyone has access to sports and team games.

We have a full programme groups, events and clubs but none of it would be possible without our residents and their families, we all work together to make this a home from home and to keep laughter and friendship at the heart of what we do.

Activities Team

Hello, I’m Alex the Activities Lead at Chalfont Lodge, working with me is Louise Doyle. I've worked at Chalfont Lodge for 8 years now. I originally started off as a volunteer and fell in love with the residents, families and staff. Since then, I've been an Activity assist, Activity Coordinator and now the head of the department! Activities are my passion and I love creating an environment where all of the residents can thrive and do what they love!

Life at Chalfont Lodge Care Home

Sunshine and Singing

When the Sun shines we move our Activities and Sunday Singalongs outside! Marius, our superb resident musician and vocalist once again delighted our residents! Marius always provides extra microphones because everyone joins in! Elvis is a favourite together with all the favourite sing songs! Music and singing is so good for our well-being. It’s an important part of life here at Chalfont.

Puppy Visit

These cute puppies came to see our residents at Chalfont Lodge. Pets, as you can see, bring such joy and we all get so excited. These two puppies got to meet all our residents: they spent some time having cuddles with our residents. These puppies were so well behaved and we cannot wait to see them again! Our residents’ and staff smiles tell the story.

Flower Donation

Our Resident Ambassador, Michael and our Manager, Raj Boodhoo visited Swarthmore Residential Home in Gerrard’s Cross. It’s National Gardening Week so Michael gifted a beautiful hydrangea on behalf of our residents at Chalfont Lodge! The kind gesture was greatly appericated and we look forward to meeting up with the residents at the home again soon.

National Gardening Week

This week at Chalfont Lodge we have been celebrating National Gardening Week by taking time to invest and admire our grounds here at Chalfont Lodge. Here at our home our residents have a garden committee who regularly meet and input on how we should present our garden. We have recently visited the garden centre and invested in lots of new plants for the spring / summer season. Our residents enjoyed a walk around the grounds, discussing the different plants and flowers and noting any improvements to be made!

Garden Centre Trip

Our residents have been out on our mini bus to visit Rowans garden centre. It was a fantastic opportunity to purchase some flowers in preparation for our garden this summer. The trip followed on from this weeks garden committee meeting with our residents and manager, Raj.
