Play by Carousel Theatre

Carousel Theatre presents 'Musical Glorious Musicals,' a heart-warming production brought to life in the cosy setting of Atfield house. Residents were treated to an enchanting journey through beloved musical numbers, igniting memories and bringing joy through song and dance. With talented performers and timeless melodies, it was an experience that sparks smiles and creates lasting moments of connection. Most importantly, the performance brought a sense of connection and community to the home. Mother's Day

On Mother`s Day this year Atfield House invited Family members to join with their Mothers in our Cream Tea party with some fun games. All our tables were booked and family members were only too kind welcoming more Residents and Visitors at each empty chair. The joyous occasion was anticipated by cheerful chatter, handing out more Mother`s day cards and sharing photos and videos of the latest family additions. When every- one had settled in, we started with a how well do you know your Mother Quiz. We learnt about Heathers favourite cake for instance. We also learnt about Rosemarie`s favourite past time. We heard the names of our Residents brothers and sisters, as our Residents children called them out! The cream tea, cakes and warm drinks were next on the menu, before the final challenge, of creative writing about a Mothers best qualities. We enjoyed listening to the poems and even had some poems written with invisible ink too ! What a great idea, that was for our family, that needed to shoot off to get to the south coast in the next hour! Thanks to our chef, who made lovely scones with cream and all the family participation on the day!

International women`s Day Celebrations

On international Women`s Day every woman, that entered, or lived at Atfield House, was encouraged to walk the red carpet, that was laid out for them. At the end awaited a Rose and a chocolate . Carmen, our Deputy Manager, made sure the women of Atfield House were celebrated, by handing out the Roses and Flowers. Our Residents carried these around with them and brought them proudly to our afternoon women’s celebration meeting. We learnt about our Residents female role-models in their lives and Residents also started to share many interesting and touching life stories too. We read also about prominent women in History and discussed their influence on our Residents life`s. To make us feel even better, our tea and coffee time was accompanied with fruits and cake, and some chocolates, that our manager handed out! What a great day to be a Women at Atfied House!

Atfield House says thank you to David McClure

At Atfield House we celebrated our last service with David McClure, the Vicar from St. Johns church and introduced Rachel, who will hold a service at Atfield House once a month from now on. Our Residents were happy to attend David`s last service and wished him farewell. He knows our Residents by Name and has kept services here for many years. But now it`s time to move on for David and we wish him well  in his new parish in Southall. And we welcomed Rachel, who was giving a moving Sermon on remembering.  We all received a yellow ribbon, as a token of remembering, those, that had passed away in the pandemic. Lawrence wore his ribbon, as did many of us on that day! We take this time to say thank you to David for his kindness and dedication to our Residents in keeping it possible for them to attend services in- house.
