Activities at Appletree Grange Care Home

Our Activities Coordinator is constantly arranging new activities to stimulate and catch the imagination of our residents. From visiting entertainers to a regular craft table to outings on the minibus, there is always something for our residents to keep them entertained. Our Activities Coordinator also takes the time to sit with each resident and go through a life history so they get to know what the likes and dislikes of each individual are and can tailor the activities to suit them. A monthly residents meeting is held to get the views of the residents and to get suggestions from them and their families about what they would like to do and everything that can be done to accommodate their requests is done.

Life at Appletree Grange Care Home

Oh, I do like to be beside the seaside...

Isn't it amazing how a few pictures of local beaches can bring memories flooding back!

Today we thought we would bring the seaside to Appletree Grange, we have had a lovely time chatting about where we used to call our seaside from south shields and Cullercoats to Seahouses and Blyth with caravan and camping holidays with their children and Sunday school trips from younger days, the best thing was always the ice cream and fish and chips

When I'm cleaning windows

We thought we would put the squeegees to another use here at Appletree Grange today and create some abstract paintings, move over Picasso you have some strong competition.

Resident of the Day

Did you know that each day we nominate someone to be our Resident of the Day and in doing so try our very best to grant a wish of theirs. Both Carol and Barry wished they could have a look around Dobbie’s, our local garden centre and cafe, So we decided to take advantage of the weather and did exactly that. Barry said: "It's been great to be out and about in the fresh air I have thoroughly enjoyed my trip out."

Arts and Crafts

Today at Appletree Grange we put our Art skills to the test and created some hyacinths using cotton buds, I'm sure you will agree they are ' blooming ' lovely

Mama Mia! move over Papa Jo!

We thought we'd try our hand at making Pizza and amongst the laughter we managed to produce some very tasty ones indeed. The residents here at Appletree Grange love to partake in activities that involve making their own food as it brings back fond memories of cooking and baking for their own families.

Creating Flower Art

Well there's one thing for certain here at Appletree Grange there's no such thing as a 'Blue Monday'

we thought we'd take advantage of the little bit of sunshine this afternoon and bring a touch of Spring in the home and create some window flower Art frames, I'm sure you will agree we 'Rose' to the challenge
