The Barchester Care Awards recognise outstanding care home staff and volunteers who are committed to the delivery of high-quality services and personalised-care.
The awards are open to employees from all of Barchester’s 200 care homes and hospitals across the UK. In 2016, there were over 1,000 nominations in total. Divisional winners were selected by a panel of judges who then invited them to attend Barchester's Head Office, so they could decide on the overall National winners for each category.
The 18 categories have been created to reflect excellence in a whole variety of roles across the company ranging from, ‘Memory Lane Champion’ and ‘Registered Nurse of the Year’, to ‘Maintenance Champion’ and ‘Chef of the Year’, as well as the categories for Barchester in Bloom.
This year’s national winners of the Barchester Care Awards were announced at an awards luncheon held at the Midlands Hotel in Manchester on 12th October.
Everyone enjoyed a three-course lunch while the winners of the 18 categories (and two surprise categories) were read out and congratulated.
