Compassionate local woman, Dr. Rev. Natasha Emin has been awarded the ‘Volunteer of the Year’ trophy at the Barchester Care Awards 2016 for the time she dedicates to helping residents at Kingsland House Care Home in Shoreham by Sea.
She was nominated for the religious services she delivers at Kingsland House, which are enjoyed by staff and residents alike, and for always stopping by and making people laugh with her ‘one liners’. She also raises lots of money for the home and even jumped off the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth to fundraise for a new home cinema at Kingsland House.
Kingsland House performed very well in this year’s awards, as alongside Rev. Natasha’s success in the national finals, the home’s activities coordinator, Eileen Garbutt received a regional award in the ‘Activities Coordinator of the Year’ category.
Marion Conway, General Manager at Kingsland House said: “Well done to Natasha and Eileen, who both thoroughly deserve these accolades! We were all delighted to hear that Natasha won the top award in her category.''
On receiving the national award, Rev. Natasha said: “This is a joint effort and I’m thrilled to win. But really: I don’t do this for winning, I do this because I love Kingsland House and its residents''.
