Staff and residents at Knightsbridge Care Village in Trim are celebrating after nurse Judish John was named ‘Nurse of the Year’ at the Barchester Care Awards 2016.
The judges were really impressed by John, who is fun, committed and people focussed. They noted that his leadership skills are second to none as he knows exactly what his team is doing and supports them 100%.
The home had already won two awards in the regional heats of the Barchester Care Awards; alongside Judish, who won a regional and national award, carer Anne Meenan won regional accolade ‘Carer/Support Worker of the Year’.
On receiving the award, Judish said: "I am greatly humbled and honoured to be receiving this award. I would like to offer my sincerest gratitude to management at Knightsbridge Care Village and my colleagues. I love being a nurse because it give a great amount of satisfaction in helping others."
Gillian McDonald, General Manager at Knightsbridge Care Village said: “We are all delighted for Judish as he really deserves this award. Judish is a talented nurse and has a great rapport with everyone in the home. He never fails to support not only residents and their relatives, but staff at the home too.”
