Apprentice/Learner of the Year

Taylor Cook
Apprentice/Learner of the Year

Taylor Cook at Ashby House Care Home in Milton Keynes has been awarded ‘Apprentice/Learner of the Year’ at the Barchester Care Awards 2016.

Taylor started working at the home as a carer. The judges were impressed by how Taylor has taken full advantage of all the development opportunities available to her and pursued learning, when she could easily have taken the wrong pathway.

The nominations for Taylor said she has “a personality that shines” and “has been on a learning journey and has developed and grown beyond recognition with the support of colleagues.”

One person stated that: ‘when Taylor is on shift it gives me confidence in knowing that my parents will be professionally and lovingly cared for’.

Taylor said: ''I was totally shocked but very grateful at the same time and it has given me the motivation to progress further within the company''.

Christine Farrell, General Manager at Ashby House said: “We are all so proud of Taylor as she really deserves this award. She worked so hard to complete her Health & Social Care Apprenticeship and continues to embrace every opportunity she is given to grow.”
