Leonard Lodge Care Home in Brentwood

Our purpose-built nursing home is located on the Hutton Poplars, towards the outskirts of Brentwood. Shenfield High Street is within walking distance. It has a numbers of shops and eateries and also the mainline train station. We are lucky enough to be in a lovely quiet area backing onto woodlands. The site where our home is located was originally a Dr Barnardos children’s home, built in 1906. A small area of the children’s home has been preserved in its original form and can be seen as you drive onto the estate.

We have a long-standing and dedicated team who strive to provide the best quality care for residents, including respite care. Our registered nurses are at the home twenty four hours a day to ensure the development of a tailor-made care plan for every individual’s needs.

Our Memory Lane Community is dedicated to dementia care, enabling every resident to thrive in an environment designed to stimulate and enrich their lives whilst giving families peace of mind and security. Our person-centred team is experienced in responding to the challenges that dementia presents, at whichever stage of the journey. The Community is located on the ground floor and benefits from a beautiful and easily accessible courtyard garden.

We are always happy to meet with you and offer a guided tour of our facilities and grounds. Why not drop in for a cup of coffee and see for yourself?

Types of care

The care we provide is delivered in a way that promotes independence for those who live in our home. Where possible, it is important that residents are encouraged to perform daily tasks independently or with minor support. Our services are devised with individualised treatment in mind for each person, so getting to know everyone and understanding their needs is imperative to delivering bespoke, person-centred care.

Sheree Wright

I have worked in the care sector as a Nursing Home Administrator for the past 10 years for 2 small care providers with less than 10 Homes. I very much enjoy working in an environment where we can make a difference - each and every one of us - to our client’s daily life.

Prior to having my family in the early 1990s, I worked in the heart of London for the first 6 years of my career as a Records Clerk with the British Medical Association, meeting Prince Charles, our Honorary President, at a Grand Ball held in his honour. I then progressed to being the Records Officer at ‘The General Council of the Bar’ in Gray’s Inn and enjoyed rubbing shoulders at the Inn’s garden parties with the likes of Tony & Cherie Blair and Geoffrey Howe, to name a few. But once I became a parent, I worked part time for HSBC to be able to bring up my family. I now have a lovely 2 year old granddaughter, who takes up a lot of my spare time, along with the dog, pigeons and canaries!
