Wisbech care home holds charity fete

A care home in Cambridgeshire used an Alice in Wonderland influence to help raise money for a very worthy cause.

Barchester's Rose Lodge care home in Wisbech held the Lewis Carroll-inspired spring fete in aid of the Barchester Healthcare Foundation, which is this year celebrating its tenth birthday, reports the Fenland Citizen.

The foundation helps older people and disabled adults across Great Britain, providing cash grants to help improve quality of life and make a difference to those who need it.

Speaking ahead of the event, Rose Lodge's general manager Julie Chambers told the publication "Not only is this an opportunity for residents, relatives and staff to get together but it gives an opportunity for the community be involved and for them to see what Rose Lodge is all about."

The home is set in privately landscaped gardens in the heart of the Fens, providing 24-hour professional care for older people, as well for those living with dementia in a specialist Memory Lane Community.
