Think carefully when moving into retirement property or residential care

There are lots of things to consider when planning to move into a retirement property or residential care facility and it is important to do your research beforehand.

This is the advice of James Cobb, founder of Retirement Property Options, who explained that people must think about the sort of property they want, terms of lease, and why they are moving before taking the plunge.

As people get older larger properties can become too much to handle and household chores, once manageable, can be difficult to do alone.

Consequently, many older adults will choose to move into a small property, retirement community or residential care to make sure their retirement is an enjoyable one.

However, it is vital that people choose the option that is right for them. Mr Cobb explained: "It is a very big decision people are making and it involves the whole family."

It is thus important to do online research, visit different sites, and talk to residents and carers.
