A sponsored step has been announced by the Stroke Association to coincide with Stroke Awareness Day on May 12th, highlighting the UK's third-biggest killer.
The charity has asked people to challenge themselves to walk as much as they can during the day alongside friends and family in a bid to get funds together for stroke support and research.
A free pedometer will be issued to all contributors to the Stroke Association, which hopes the event will raise the importance of constant exercise in combating the unpredictable threat.
It simply requires a person to set themselves a target as to how much walking they want to do during the day and use the pedometer to trace their tracks, while helping them reduce body fat and blood pressure levels.
Another opportunity is available to daredevils, with a Skydive for Stroke taking place in Nottingham on May 9th and providing a free opportunity to take the jump should the donator raise more than £395.
