Stars come out in aid of Parkinson's charity

British celebrities such as Ricky Gervais and Stephen Fry are supporting a drive to find a cure for Parkinson's disease.

The stars, who also include Sophie Dahl, Robbie Coltrane and 30 others, have designed candle holders to be auctioned off on eBay with the proceeds going to the Cure Parkinson's Trust ILLUMINATE campaign.

Those who collect celebrity artefacts and autographs will also be delighted at the chance to purchase autographed photos from A-listers such as Michael Caine, Matt Lucas, David Walliams and Geri Halliwell.

Additionally, the candle-holder designs are also featured in a book which is now available for purchase.

This comes after a study, carried out by a team at Kaiser Permanente Northern California, found that those who had used amphetamines such as Benzedrine and Dexedrine in the past could be at an increased risk of developing Parkinson's disease.
