Siemens has joined forces with the Stroke Association to launch the third annual Stroke for Stroke campaign, raising awareness of the benefits adopting a healthy diet and exercise to prevent it happening.
Between January 25th and 31st next year, the charity will ask the public to row 10 km during to raise money to help those who have been hit by the condition.
Siemens, in its capacity as the high-performance partner of GB Rowing, is now helping for the third time in the campaign and has helped raise £70,000 to date.
"Each year an estimated 150,000 people in the UK will suffer a stroke. Stroke for Stroke is now in its third year and a campaign like this is integral to raising awareness of how regular exercise and lifestyle choices can help prevent a stroke."
The representative said the partnership is expecting a greater number of people getting involved and supporting the work of the Stroke Association and its delivery of vital research into stroke treatment and prevention.
A number of organisations have already pledged to do a lot of miles, including the SAS which is doing 200 km for the cause.
