Preston care home to offer care home advice to Lancashire citizens
29th June 2009

An information-gathering seminar has been planned out by a number of care homes owned by Barchester Healthcare, with the organisation selecting a Preston home for an upcoming event.

Sherwood Court Care Home in Fulwood will host anyone in the area who wants to educate themselves in such things as state and self funding of care, protecting capital, assets and succession, and the lasting powers of attorney.

The event is billed for Thursday July 9th at 19:00 BST.

Hilary Scott, the general manager of Sherwood Court, said the current economic climate is causing many to worry about their funding of elderly care, so to give this aid will help alleviate fears and show the options available to all.

The expert and host continued: "Finding the appropriate long-term care for an elderly loved one is something that requires careful research and planning and the same is true when it comes to financing the move."

Barchester Healthcare was listed in the Sunday Times Top 20 Big Companies to Work For 2009, with over 90 per cent of residents, relatives and professionals from a pool of 4,500 stating the company creates a "happy place to live".
