Parkinson's collaboration to promote support for condition
7th August 2009

The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research has joined forces with an international medical centre to raise awareness of the condition.

As part of the awareness-raising campaign, EHE International has donated a 115-window space at New York's Rockefeller Plaza in the US to encourage citizens to support the foundation through its fundraising arm.

Actor Michael J Fox has Parkinson's and has long been an ambassador for supporting further research into the condition.

His foundation was set up with the hope of finding a cure, through an aggressively-funded research agenda.

President of EHE International Deborah McKeever said: "We hope to educate people about Parkinson's disease and the work the Michael J Fox Foundation is doing to find a cure.

"We encourage everyone to recognise and act on any warning signs or symptoms they might discover."

The announcement comes after the Parkinson's Disease Society awarded a University of Edinburgh senior research fellowship nearly £380,000 to help understand what happens to nerve cells in Parkinson's.
