More resources put into care training

15th September 2006

Skills for Care has announced the release of a new online training resource for adult care workers.

The sector's training and development body has produced a service that it claims will make searching for relevant training materials easier for healthcare employers.

ARC, the Association for Real Change, which represents social care employers, has welcomed the release, saying: "This will become an essential resource for all employers looking for support with staff development."

"We recognise the importance of training materials in the task of driving up the quality of care, so we are helping to bring publishers and employers together," asserted Andrea Rowe, chief executive of Skills for Care.

Feedback is invited from users of the new tool at the Skills for Care website while there are also plans to provide a database of training providers to the site.

This latest move is one of many initiatives to continually improve standards of training and care within UK the healthcare sector.
