Middletown Grange celebrates life with a new game

2nd February 2007

Residents at an Oxfordshire care home took part in a special game this week, which caused a "riot of hilarity and a plethora of prizes".

The 'beetle' game, involving paper and dice, was accompanied by a special tea provided by Barchester's very own Middletown Grange chef.

Manager Keren Welch started the evening off with some sample games, before everyone got involved and staff helped residents "whose dexterity did not allow them to roll the dice quickly enough" join in the fun.

The game, which took place in the dining room of the home's frail elderly unit, was described by Middletown Grange as a celebration of the "fun of life".

"What a mad bunch we are to laugh so much over something so simple!" said relative Pam Crook, who was there to join in the activities.

Middletown Grange is located near Witney and provides nursing services for older people. It specialises in dementia care, which is provided in separate accommodation, and there are also holiday breaks and post-operative care services available.
