Marathon running, stateside

20th June 2007

Help the Aged is inviting those who are up for a challenge to run the New York Marathon in aid of the charity.

Taking place on Sunday November 4th, participants will get to see one of the greatest cities in the world while they join 30,000 runners for the 26.2-mile stretch.

A further marathon which fundraisers are invited to run is the Chicago Marathon, taking place on October 7th. This fast, flat course is said to give serious runners a good chance to improve their personal best.

Miranda Harman, Help the Aged events fundraiser, said: "Both the ING New York City Marathon and the LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon offer people the chance to really experience the atmosphere and a different way to see the sights of these two fantastic cities.

"Through joining the Help the Aged running team - The Buzzers - the charity will be on hand to offer support every step of the way and will provide tailored training plans, regular newsletters and a dedicated Help the Aged representative to give guidance."
