Let's go through the keyhole at Marnel Lodge

Maureen McDonaugh, the newly appointed General Manager of Marnel Lodge, was delighted to accept the keys to the latest 62-bed property in Carter Drive from the Construction Manager, Carl Martin. This is the first development project that Barchester has worked on with long-term design and build partners, Castleoak.

Maureen said: “The builders have done a sterling job and the finish is second to none. Our expert interior design team has also added flair and luxury furnishings to the interior, completing the entire refurbishment in just two weeks!

“Our intention is to create a building that reflects bespoke, high quality for our prospective residents, where we can provide tailored care to meet their individual needs. I look forward to welcoming our first residents later this month.”

During the build more than 68,000 bricks were laid, 1023 energy-saving light bulbs fitted, and in addition to 1466 rolls of turf, 2161 plants, trees and shrubs were used to create the landscaped grounds.

Marnel Lodge will meet the demand for high quality nursing and residential services, including specialised dementia care as well as providing care for younger people with physical disabilities, in the Basingstoke area.
