An insurance company has demonstrated that the UK's financial services industry understands the importance of quality hospice care, by raising £60,000.
Allianz Cornhill has presented the cheque to the Association of Children's Hospices (ACH) in conclusion of its fundraising campaign, which was launched in March.
Events were carried out across the country by staff, including sky dives, marathons, the swimming of Lake Windermere and the scaling of Ben Nevis.
Barbara Gelb, chief executive of ACH, thanked the company for its efforts: "Without the generosity of companies like this we could not carry on our vital work on behalf of children's hospices and the life-limited children and families they support all over the UK."
"The continued enthusiasm, generosity and inventiveness of employees involved with the campaign has been remarkable, and I'd like to thank them all for their participation," said Allianz Cornhill's CEO Andrew Torrance.
The cheque was collected from Allianz Cornhill's head office in Guildford by ACH supporter Scooby Doo.
