Flowers blossom at Dudwell St Mary care home

25th October 2006

The first ever Dudwell St Mary Flower Festival has been held at a Barchester Healthcare home.

Transforming the Dudwell St Mary Care Home in Burwash, the festival was organised by the Burwash and District Flower Arrangement Club.

The flowers, which were distributed around the home, provided not only a beautiful addition to the usual decor as well as a lovely fragrance and many smiles.

"We are so grateful to the Burwash Flower Club for transforming our home over the weekend," said Geoff Pride from the home, which offers specialist dementia care services as well as residential care.

"The arrangements were stunning and brought enormous pleasure to residents, staff and visitors alike."

Barbara Varney, the flower club's chairman, also spoke of what a pleasant occasion the event had been.

"The weekend was a great success for everyone involved as Dudwell St Mary is a magnificent country home and an ideal environment to show off our arrangements," she said.

It is hoped that the event will be repeated next year.
