Construction underway for sister care homes

Barchester Healthcare, the national care provider behind two major developments in Bramley and Basingstoke, marked the start of building at its two sites.

Mike Parsons, CEO and founder of Barchester Healthcare, toured the Bramley site, being built by GB Building Solutions, and the site in Marnel Park, being built in a development partnership with Castleoak.

He joined Martin Smout, CEO of GB Building Solutions, at German Road in Bramley to lay the first brick, before meeting Mel Knight, Executive Chairman at Castleoak, at the site in Marnel Park.

Barchester Healthcare provides care services to more than 10,000 people in more than 200 homes in the UK.

The new care home in Bramley will be home to 77 residents and is set to open in winter 2010, while the 62 bed home in Marnel Park is due to open early 2011.

The two sister homes will meet the demand for high quality nursing and residential services, including dementia care, in the Basingstoke area.

Mike Parsons, CEO and founder of Barchester Healthcare, said: "We are every excited about the construction of our new care homes in Bramley and Basingstoke. There is a real need for good quality care in the local area and the newest additions to Barchester will meet this demand."
