The Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association has endorsed the work of an MND sufferer who put forward the reasons as to why Facebook has helped her deal with the condition.
Sarah Ezekiel was diagnosed with the condition in April 2000 and used the social networking website to get in touch with others affected by the disease.
Now, as part of a competition run by the website called Facebook for Good: Share Your Story, Sarah has entered her own film which highlights the commitment made by Facebook to providing individuals the world over with empowerment.
Ms Ezekiel said: "I write about my experiences of living with MND and feel that I'm helping and educating a wide range of people globally.
"I feel that I have a new lease of life now."
Facebook users can vote for their favourite video, with Ms Ezekiel now in the final.
The social networking tool was founded in 2004 and currently serves 130 million users around the world.
