BULFC storm to 6-1 victory

1st March 2006

Barchester United stormed to a 6-1 win against Stalham Town at the weekend despite only having ten players due to injury and illness.

The first half saw goals from Em Anderson and Lyndy King, leaving the team confident in the second half.

Early in the first half King's ball was finished by Anderson, which was retrieved from midfield by Robyn Edwards who passed it to Anderson who took the team into the lead.

Just before the half-time whistle, King scored after Stalham failed to clear the ball from the area after a throw in from the near corner flag.

As the second half got underway, Gem Hamilton scored with a shot from just outside the area and managed to score the fifth goal when she got on the end of Anderson's perfectly-placed cross.

A number of strong 1-2 passes up the wing by Lauren Bowles, Vicki Shucksmith, Tash Evans and Kerry Sharpen saw the team cruise to this well-earned victory.

Gemma Hallam managed to finish Barchester's scoring well ahead of time when a throw in enabled her to shoot from just inside the box.

Player of the match went to captain Gemma Hamilton for her efforts in midfield.
