26th August 2008

A Barchester care home resident has just celebrated her 104th birthday.

Lucy Williams was joined by her family and staff at the Iddenshall Hall Care Home to mark the occasion, the Chester Chronicle reports.

Once Ms Williams had been presented with a birthday cake, fellow residents enjoyed a slice along with a glass of sherry.

According to the news provider, general manager Ann Hull commented that Lucy has always been a popular resident since she moved into the home eight years ago.

Referring to her birthday celebrations, he added: "It was a lovely morning and everyone commented how good Lucy looks for her 104 years."

Iddenshall Hall Care Home, which is situated in Tarporley, offers state-of-the-art accommodation and specialist nursing for people living with dementia.

The home boasts that it has achieved both the externally-accredited Hospitality Assured award, as well as the Platinum Eat Well Award from Chester council.
