Barchester Healthcare has announced the launch of its Have a Heart Campaign to help a hospice meet the "spiralling cost" of cancer care, it has been reported.
According to the Isle of Wight County Press Online, the company, which owns two nursing homes on the island community including Vecta House Care Home, is aiming to raise £5,000 to contribute to Newport's Earl Mountbatten Hospice through a charity auction.
The news provider continued: "The auction's organisers hope to get a celebrity auctioneer for the event, which will also feature entertainment from fire juggler Matt Splatt, street circus antics from Ryde Xtreme Performers and live music in a marquee."
Up for grabs at the event is a helicopter ride around the island, a weekend stay at the Priory Bay Hotel in Seaview worth £700 and a week-long holiday for six people at Thorness Bay.
Vecta House is a Memory Lane Community home on the Isle of Wight, providing 24-hour specialist care for people with dementia.
