Barchester hosts music festival in Coventry

2nd October 2006

A Barchester Healthcare retirement village has hosted Bedworth's inaugural music festival near Coventry.

The Richmond Village on Hospital Lane, Bedworth, was filled with brass band and jazz music on Thursday.

More than 120 people attended the festival, which included performances from the 29-piece Bedworth Brass Band, reports the North Warwickshire News.

"Since completing the extension to the village last year, the restaurant, terrace and garden areas are the perfect setting for this kind of musical extravaganza, allowing residents and their families to enjoy a great social occasion that embraces the local community," marketing and events manager David Reaves told the newspaper.

The festival, which will hopefully become an annual event, raised more than £250 for the Barchester Healthcare Foundation as well as also raising plenty of smiles.

The Barchester Healthcare Foundation is a registered charity and was set up by Barchester Healthcare in order to reinvest in the communities that the company serves.

Older people and adults with a physical or mental disability are the particular focus of the foundation's work.
