Barchester care home gets high rating
15th June 2009

Lanercost House, a Barchester Healthcare-run care home in Carlisle, Cumbria, has been awarded for its great quality of care by the major intermediary in the inspection of such institutions.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) gave the home a 'good' rating following the watchdog's visit, causing general manager at Lanercost House, Alison Farran, to register her delight at the decision.

She explained that she and her team are proud on working together to provide the best quality of care available, respecting and celebrating the individuality of every resident in their care.

Ms Farran added: "I am so proud of all that the team have achieved at Lanercost and of the level of dedication and quality care they provide for all our residents.

"There is a real home from home feel at Lanercost and I know that is down to the team of carers."

Trips carried out by the staff with residents include visits to local sights including the Scottish borders, historic Carlisle and the Lake District.
