Activities at The Wingfield Care Home

Here at The Wingfield our activities team provide a varied and interesting range of activities for all residents. We are registered with the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) and we take pride in delivering activities that will enhance residents lives and bring happiness and a sense of purpose. Our cooking activities are very popular, as well as the regular book clubs, coffee mornings, skittle matches and bus trips. We provide one to one support for those who are unable to attend activities and we have tea dances, musicians, quizzes, music and movement, as well as our giant scrabble board! But most importantly we have fun! Relatives are always welcome and there is always much laughter and smiling faces during our activities. We take pride in what we do and we continually strive to enhance residents lives through meaningful activity.

Delicious Wine Tasting!

We joined a virtual wine tasting event, hosted by our very own Hospitality Manager, Christophe Noel and special guests Lee Isaacs DipWSET and Nick Parker from Unity Wines and Spirits.

Lee talked us through tasting a number of wines starting with sparkling and white before moving to rosé and red. Lee provided us wth an insight into the history of wine, wine making, consumer attitudes, as well as a few tall tales and anecdotes from his 20 years in the trade.

Best of all we had plenty of opportunity to sample and choose our favourite!

A colourful afternoon!

Life needs colour - in our garden and in our home. We spent an afternoon creating patterns and pictures

,

Afternoon tea in the Garden

We all enjoyed a lovely afternoon in the garden with good company and tea - making the most of the warm weather

Puzzling Times!

Residents love a quiet afternoon with a jigsaw as a group or just adding a few pieces as they pass the lounge

,

Visit by our favourite friends!

We were delighted to see our four legged friends today - everyone enjoyed sharing their stories of family pets past and present

Sensory Therapy

Residents enjoyed the relaxing afternoon in our sensory room on Memory Lane, its an oasis of calm where we can listened to lovely sounds of nature, the sea or music, all chosen by them in the moment
