Activities at White Lodge Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators here at White Lodge enjoy the fulfillment of helping residents feel important and a part of something. Meaningful moments are created through laughter and comfort. A varied activities programme is offered for the betterment of residents' bodies and minds, including music for health, 'Oomph' sessions and chair Zumba, in addition to coffee and cake groups that all inevitably lead to giggles and old fashioned singalongs. Also, we organise parties, trips out, walks in the country, bus outings and wonderful entertainers to visit our home. A sneaky tipple is always welcomed with cheese and crackers and, at the end of the day, it is important to go home knowing our activities have made a difference.

Life at White Lodge Care Home
Afternoon Tea and Pimm's for Wimbledon
It was wonderful to see Wimbledon back this year. We really missed it in 2020 and so to celebrate, our excited residents enjoyed watching the match with a freshly baked scone with clotted cream and strawberry jam, washed down with a glass of Pimm's. Whether in the Cafe lounge, or in their rooms, everyone appreciated this lovely Summer treat as they cheered on their favourite players.
Croquet on the Lawn
With our perfectly manicured lawn, White Lodge residents enjoyed a game of croquet in the grounds. Enjoyed by all on a lovely warm day, it was rounded off with an ice lolly.
Welcome Back Archie
We are always thrilled to welcome Pet Therapy visits and this week Archie came back to see us. Before lockdown, he was a regular visitor to White Lodge and had a lot of fans who have missed him. Archie is such a gentle, friendly dog who enjoys meeting everyone, and he especially enjoys it when he gets treats from our residents.
Archie will be coming back on a regular basis and we look forward to introducing him to more residents.
Baking Cheesy Delights
Cheesy pastry delights were the order of the day. Residents baked cheese straws and pin wheels and the results were delicious (we didn't skimp on the cheese!). Not only did we bake we also had a lovely chat around the table.
Mindful Colouring on Memory Lane
Tina and Martine offer a range of activities to each of our communities. Memory Lane, our community for those living with dementia always enjoy mindful colouring. Residents are able to relax, be creative and enjoy each others company around the table.
BBQ Weather!
Every day is different at White Lodge and today was no exception! A group of residents bought colour to our front flower bed planting a selection of flowers, while others enjoyed a stroll in the grounds taking in the clear blue sky. After working up an appetite our chef Joel cooked the perfect lunch for a summer’s day, a barbeque. We all would like to thank Joel for such a delicious lunch with homemade coleslaw, salads along with burgers and sausages with accompaniments, he really did need a sit down after cooking on such a hot day!
