Activities at Wheatlands Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Wheatlands Care Home
Round the World
Residents enjoyed around-the-world trip to Thailand. We started off with a gentle Thai exercise class, made paper flowers, spoke some Thai phrases and tasted some delicious fruit juices.
Trip to Local Allotment
Residents enjoyed a trip to our local allotment, where they looked at all the fruit, veg and flowers. We also came home with a big bag of fresh vegetables.
Sports Day
Residents had a great sports day at Wheatlands; we had an egg and spoon race, mini golf, beanbags, ring toss, balloon tennis and a very competitive nerf gun target practice.
Singing in the Sun
We had a lovely open day; the sun was shining and we all dressed up to sing beautiful songs – seeing the happy faces of the residents was very special; it felt like a bit of normality in our lives.
Apley Farm
Residents enjoyed a lovely trip out on the minibus to Apley Farm and Scotty’s Donkeys. We stroked and fed the animals (except for the Tarantula), sat and enjoyed a lovely cup of tea and little fairy cakes.
Round the World
Residents enjoyed our 'Round the World' to a desert Island. We played beach ball, enjoyed ice creams and paddling in the pool.
