I trained as a nurse in Pakistan and came to Britain in 2004 with my husband and family. Since then I have completed my adaptation course and commenced working as a RN and have professionally developed to a Deputy Manager role.
I joined the Thackeray team in 2013 and with the General Manager we have developed a caring and committed team who endeavour to provide consistent high quality care and hospitality standards to meet our resident’s needs. I also work closely with the General Manager in supporting staff and assisting them in their professional development to ensure they are equipped to meet our residents individualised needs.
While working with Barchester Healthcare I have been given the opportunities to professional develop in areas of training, mentorship, coaching, palliative care and clinically. My role involves day to day liaising with other professionals and communicating with residents, relatives and visitors.
On a daily basis I ensure I speak to each resident individually, so I am aware of any issues and can report any concerns to the General Manager immediately. I also deputise in the General Managers absence and will always be available for a chat with residents and relatives so they can provide positive feedback or any concerns they have then I can deal with them in a prompt manner.
I enjoy my role and I am proud to be part of a very caring, committed team who will go to any lengths to ensure the residents needs are met and relatives are satisfied with the care being provided.
