Activities at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home

The activity team within our home spend a lot of time committing themselves to organising a range of activities for residents. This includes, pet therapy, trips out to local places of interest, visits from entertainers and musicians, bingo, one to one pamper time, weekly quizzes, coffee mornings, arts and crafts and baking. Activities are considered to be a crucial aspect of our home as residents look forward to upcoming events. As a result, it is essential that our team work together with dedication, to ensure residents are entertained and involved in as many activities as possible.

Life at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home

Come sing!

Residents across our homes and hospitals had a fantastic time with vocal coach Dan Cooper from Biiah as he led an amazing sing-a-long session for residents to enjoy.

Residents who joined the event were able to learn different techniques as they sang the famous ‘I Can See Clearly Now’ by Jimmy Cliff and ‘Here Comes the Sun’ by The Beatles.

Across our homes there were smiles and laugher all around. The session was such a success and was great for the mind, body and soul.

Welcoming Our New Arrivals

Staff, residents and their guests at Barchester’s Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home, in Stamford Bridge, York were celebrating the birth of baby chicks this week at the home.

There was a lot of egg-citement at the home as eight chicks hatched throughout the week. Residents were able to pet and feed the chicks as they found their footing in their new home. The new additions will also be visited by the children from the local Muddy Boots Nursery from the local primary school who stopped in to meet the new arrivals.

Coffee with a Coppa

We warmly welcomed the local Police service into our home this morning for our “Coffee with a coppa” event to give our residents  a chance to show their gratitude and appreciation for their hard work, and for them to enjoy a warm drink with the company of our residents.

Our visiting police officers spoke to the audience about their time on the force, the challenges they face and the rewards from helping the local community, before taking questions from the residents, relatives and guests.this certainly set everyone off to a great start to their day!

Staff and residents at the Stamford Bridge Care Home, in Stamford Bridge, York have invited members of the local community to join them for a wine tasting event hosted by the homes activities team.

The home came up with the idea to invite members of the local community to come and enjoy our beautiful café area and taste some delicious wines.

The afternoon was a big success with members of the local community stopping by for a glass or three.

Inside the Factory

We had a brilliant time across our services with Harrogate Skills 4 Living as they took us on a wonderful virtual visit to their Harrogate Chocolate Factory.

Residents were thrilled to discover details about the chocolate-making process and the fascinating journey from bean to bar, all while enjoying some delicious sweet treats.

The Factory aims to employ people with learning disabilities and autism, involving them in all parts of the process, from sorting and roasting the beans to packaging and sales. The experience was truly enjoyed by all who joined this event.
