Meet the team
Our wonderful team comprises nurses, carers, activities coordinators, chefs, housekeepers and more. These people are here to ensure that residents enjoy their time at the home and are supported to live life to the fullest. Meet some of our staff below:
Hi, my name is Beth and I am the General Manager here at Rhiwlas.
I am a registered nurse with a postgraduate diploma in Mental Health Nursing and am passionate about providing the very best care for those we support.
I am committed to providing holistic care, which brings together all the skills of our fantastic and dedicated team, and those of the wider professional network, to promote the health, well-being and quality of life of residents here at Rhiwlas.
Chris has a wealth of knowledge as a qualified nurse and is passionate about giving the best service possible to residents. He believes in quality care and strives to make a great team. He has worked in lots of different care environments and we welcome his experience.
I have been a nurse since 2005 and I have previously worked on an acute medical ward as a Deputy Manager. I particularly enjoy caring for the elderly and I love hearing about their life experiences. My nursing career has given me the opportunity to care for people with a variety of conditions. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and also love reading and gardening.
I have worked in many different sectors of administration, but mainly law. Previous to my post at Rhiwlas, I worked in other care homes, and I found them thoroughly enjoyable. I bring a wealth of administration experience to the role, and I enjoy meeting new people. I am love getting to know the residents and their families. In my free time I like to play badminton and walk my dog.
My name is Dawn Edwards and I have worked at Rhiwlas since 2012. I originally started as a senior carer and held this position in both our residential and nursing communities within the home. Since 2017, I have been the Activities Coordinator, a role that initially started as 2 week's cover, but I found I loved the role so much, that I am still here two and a half years later!
I am a Welsh speaker, originally from the little welsh village, Bethesda, on the edge of Snowdonia, before moving to Flint, where I have lived for over 30 years. Outside of work, I love walking, gardening and all craft work, and spending time with my 2 sons, Tom and Sam, and my little dog, Ollie.
I believe I have the best job in the world, as I get to spend my days with the loveliest people who have a lifetime of experience and memories, and I am passionate that this continues when they come to live at Rhiwlas. It is vital, in my opinion, that we continue to live well and full as we make many new memories and new experiences while we travel down this new road.
My name is Claire and I joined Rhiwlas in July 2018. I have a wide range of admin experience from a number of sectors, including banking. I enjoy meeting people and I will be one of the first faces you see when you visit Rhiwlas. I enjoy gardening and reading, especially psychological thrillers.
I joined the Rhiwlas team in January 2018, having previously been self employed as a builder/landscaper. I have a strong interest in golf and have spent the last 8 years as the Flintshire Junior Golf Organiser, and have also played rugby and football at amateur level.
