Meet the team
Our staff are what hold the home together. Each one of these team members are dedicated to providing high quality care and services to those we support, and ensuring that residents enjoy all aspects of life at our home. See below to meet some of our friendly faces:
Hi, my name is Sharon and I am the General Manager here at The Rhallt.
I Joined Barchester Healthcare in January 2015 as a Head of Unit, and became a General Manager in January 2016. I have undertaken my Registered General Nurse training and qualified in 1994. The majority of my nursing career has been spent in the community, supporting individuals with complex care needs and management of a diverse team of care workers and nurses. I am very passionate about care delivery and strive to deliver the highest standard of care to all our residents.
My role here at The Rhallt is to ensure that the residents that we support are treated with individuality, dignity and respect whilst ensuring a safe, comfortable and homely environment. To enable me to do this, I also have to ensure a happy, motivated and highly skilled team who share the same passions as myself.
Bea has been an RGN since 1981, and was trained in London. She has worked for Barchester since 2016, and joined The Rhallt after moving to the local area. Bea is married with grown children. She loved her job and has a great team of colleagues.
Kate started at The Rhallt in as an Admin Assistant and in March 2018 became The Rhallt's Administrator. Kate enjoys working together with the team to provide an excellent service for the residents we work for, the families we work with and the team we support.
Aelonwy Merch Rose Cadwallader
Aelonwy joined Barchester in July 2019 as an activities coordinator, helping Mel Bird on the Castell Coch community. Aelonwy has previously worked in care as well as support care worker for people with learning difficulties and individuals with challenging behaviours. Aelonwy is looking forward to face new challenges as an activities coordinator at our home.
Mel joined Barchester in 2018 and initially worked with the catering team before moving to activities. Working with relatives and families, Mel devises and delivers an exciting programme of activities to residents, which includes frequent trips out of the home using our own minibus, as well as regular visiting groups, such as nursery infants, local schools, choirs, singers, other musicians and therapy animals.
Ann-Marie joined Barchester in 2012 after moving from Lancashire. She has lots of nursing experience in other care homes and she understands the complex needs of the people we support. She enjoys coming to work every day, and always has a smile and her face with willingness to help.
Jo will greet you in reception with a smile! She prides herself on delivering excellent service, and has been working for The Rhallt since 2015.
Alfie always has a smile on his face and will help with anything he can. He is a qualified electrician and can fix almost anything! He won the Barchester Maintenance Man of the Year Award in 2016 and he also received his 10 year Long Service Award in 2018. Alfie always has time for a quick chat, especially if it’s about sport.
Cath has experience working as a support worker with children and adults with learning disabilities. She is a chef by experience and has been with The Rhallt since January 2018. Cath has over 20 years’ experience in catering and always greets you with a smile in the kitchen.
I have been in the catering industry for over 20 years now. I am always here to lend a helping hand wherever I can. I have worked at The Rhallt as a chef since 2014 and I am a proud Welsh speaker.

I have worked at The Rhallt since 2015 and I am always happy to help in any way that I can. My role covers all aspects of cleanliness in the home.
Karen is a Senior Carer on our Breidden community and has worked at The Rhallt for over 15 years! She loves working with all the residents who live on Breidden, as they have such varying personalities.
I have worked in the care sector for over 10 years, and I am currently working towards my NVQ level 2. I find my work as a Care Assistant to be very rewarding and enjoy working as part of the team on the elderly frail unit at The Rhallt.
