Activities at Queens Court Care Home

Activities are one of the most important aspects of our care home, providing fun and companionship, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained and that life at Queens Court is fun and active. Throughout the home, there is a choice of lounges, which have been designed for people who enjoy socialising and love making new friends. Music therapy, speakers of interest, events, cinema screenings and family events are offered regularly, as well as the Book Club or Poetry Corner, for those who enjoy quieter activities. Our social programme is varied and exciting and is available seven days a week. You can be as busy as you like. Our friends of Queens Court regularly support our special events and activities at the home, which include trips to the seaside and National Trust site

Queens 95th Birthday

Our residents decided that we should recognise our dear Queens birthday, but quietly in recognition of her mourning the loss of her dear husband, Prince Philip. We did so in true Queens Court style with an amazing cake designed and baked by head chef, Ros and the odd glass of bubbly! Happy birthday ma'am!

Mayor of Merton's Care Excellence Award

Queens Court couldn't have been more delighted to receive a very prestigious award from our Mayor of Merton in recognition of our work through the dreadfully difficult pandemic times and to honour the fact that we have managed to protect all our residents from Covid 19!

Always a good time for Scrabble!

Residents at Queens Court thoroughly enjoy a game of giant scrabble and always unanimously choose it any time it's "Resident's Choice" of activity! Great fun and great stimulation!

Barchester Quiz

Queens Court' Team and residents joined forces with many other Barchester Homes in a fantastic Easter Quiz! We were nipping at the leaders heels all the way, but pipped at the post! "Watch this space!" (see full details next to the photo)

"Easter Fun in the "Sun"

We were delighted to safely welcome our Mayor, Food Bank trustees and charities safely in to our garden to celebrate Easter and the launch of our Food Bank Collecting Bin. "Tea on the lawn" was served for 6 at a time and and we all thoroughly enjoyed the sunshine!

World Poetry Day

Actor and playwright, Simon De-Cintra kindly gave up an hour of his time on Sunday, World Poetry Day to recite some comical, inciteful, classical even: by " the bard" himself. (None of us realised that Shakespeare wrote poetry!) poetic pieces. The Mayor of Merton joined us and we all agreed what a fantastic session it was!
