Plas-Y-Dderwen Care Home in Carmarthen
Plas-Y-Dderwen is a purpose built care home in the peaceful village of Johnstown near Carmarthen. We provide a range of accommodation and services for older people in need of support, from respite care to 24-hour nursing care and residential care, in addition to those living with physical disabilities.
Dementia Care
We also provide specialist support for individuals living with dementia in our bespoke Memory Lane Community, where care is focused on independence, dignity and choice, with a person centred approach. We have also invested in a 'Magic Table' for our home, an interactive light projector designed to support people living with dementia through mentally and physically stimulating games.
We're proud of our socially active community which revolves around superb facilities alongside first-rate care.

Hi, my name is Kath, I am the General manager here at Plas-Y-Dderwen. Welcome to our website!
I started working for Barchester Healthcare in 2017 as an RGN, and became a senior nurse in 2018. I was promoted to Deputy Manager in January 2019.
Before coming to Barchester, I was a district nurse for 12 Years and, prior to that, I was a Surgical nurse.
