Activities at Overslade House Care Home
Our activities team is dedicated to organising a variety of events and activities and adapting them to suit the capabilities of those we support. Our goal is to improve quality of life by providing activities that are tailored to residents' own interests.
At Overslade House, we encourage local people and businesses to participate, as well as our staff and relatives, in order to keep them involved as part of a wider community. We strive to enhance the quality of both mental and physical stimulation through weekly minibus excursions, PAT dogs, quizzes, Zumba classes, arm chair line dancing, musical entertainers, pamper sessions and much more.
We definitely have something for everyone!
Julie Bateman
Hi, my name is Julie, and I'm the lead Activities Lead here at Overslade House. I've been an entertainer for over 25 years which has given me a great foundation for meeting people from various backgrounds, and has also helped nurture my social skills.
I love animals, and have two Dachshunds of my own who, like me, love meeting new people. I'm looking forward to bringing them in to meeting all our lovely residents here at Overslade.
I'm a bit of a social butterfly and enjoy visiting National Trust locations, attending the Theatre, singing and dining out. Over the years I've even been an 'extra' on TV!
Living life to the full is my motto, and I wish to instil this in all our residents, whatever your ability there is something new to learn or try. Life is for enriching and enjoyment. I look forward to getting to know you and your loved ones. Life at Overslade House Care Home
Atherstone Boat Trip
Overslade House partnered with Hargreaves Boats and Home Instead for a fabulous boat trip to Atherstone today. The residents enjoyed a delectable picnic freshly prepared by the Chef team at Overslade House.
Hawaiian Summer Fete
The Aloha spirit was at Overslade House today for our Hawaiian themed Summer Fete. Complete with Lei's and grass skirts along with Hawaiian drinks the residents and visitors had great fun and enjoyed the fantastic music and variety of stalls.
Hawaiian themed art with Creative Mojo
The residents began to prepare for our summer fete today with Creative Mojo, creating fabulous Hawaiian themed artwork to present around the home. Some fantastic pieces were created as you can see!
Wilf Smith & Son bring Ice Creams into Overslade
On the hottest day of the year staff and residents at Overslade House were overjoyed to welcome Wilf Smith and Son Funeral Care today with armfuls of delicious ice-creams!
Our Divisional Winners
Well done to Mandy Smith and Marie McIvor, who were named as Divisional Winners in the 'Hospitality Champion' category and 'Care Practitioner of the Year' category for the 2019 Barchester Care Awards.
Overslade House host the Rainbows end of year party
Overslade House were proud to be part of and host the end of year party for the Rainbows.
Held in the main garden, our residents loved taking part in pass the parcel and even joined in the teddy bears picnic!
The Rainbow leader handed out badges for Rainbows who were moving on to Brownies and received a special teddy bear badge.
The residents, Rainbows and staff all joined together for their 'goodbye song' at the end of the party. everyone had such a fantastic time!
