Activities at Oak Grange Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Residents and guests at Oak Grange care home in Mollington, Chester had an afternoon of joy and laughter with live music performance that took place at the home. “Derek Herbet Entertains” performed a tribute act to the music and life story of the great entertainer George Formby, singing many of his popular songs and other well known hits from war time-1940’s. Together with residents and staff, Derek was singing, playing ukulele, and banjo in the unique style.

Care Home Open Day

Care Home Open Day

Residents and staff at Oak Grange would like to thank their local Waitrose for the very kind cake donation, which they received towards their #CHOD2019 (care home open day) vintage tea party, it was delicious!

They were joined on their CHOD2019 by Adele and Richard, from local solicitors, Cullimore Dutton with a pop up stand providing free legal advice. The sun shone for their garden party and they enjoyed live folk music from musicians Chris and Joan. Everyone had a great afternoon.

The Magic Table

We are delighted to announce that we have just had a Magic Table installed, which is an interactive light projector, designed to support residents living with dementia by keeping them engaged through specialised games.

The light projections respond to hand and arm movement, allowing residents to stay stimulated and, most of all, have fun!

You can read more about it on this page.

Time-hop Sweet Shop

Time-hop Sweet Shop

We were so lucky to have our University students for five weeks this summer, as part of their work based learning, they really got to know all our residents. The students decided to make a “time-hop-sweet shop”, with sweets from the past and sweets from the present which they planned and prepared themselves. Everyone was thrilled of all the joy it brought to all residents and it encouraged a reminiscence conversation.

Celebrating 7 Years

Celebrating 7 Years

Residents, families and colleagues welcomed their University Volunteers to join them for an afternoon of celebration to toast the home’s seventh birthday. It was a fun-filled afternoon as Residents and their guests enjoyed live music with a saxophonist performance by popular musician, Sue.
