Activities at Mount Tryon Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Mount Tryon Care Home

Love is in the air!

Mount Tryon was filled with flowers, cards, heart messages and sweet treats in celebration of Valentine’s Day.

Residents and staff celebrated the day of love by creating Thankful hearts display, we wrote a special message on heart shapes for our loved ones or just a little thank you to staff.  Family members were given a chocolate rose from their loved ones.

Our residents enjoyed a lovely valentine’s day menu of savoury and sweet treats, prepared by our talented chef, while listening to some of their favourite love songs.

It was lovely day and it was wonderful to see everyone go to so much effort to get involved with the day.

Special Delivery

Today Eileen met her 10th Great-grandchild, the beautiful Bobbi. Eileen had only seen Bobbi in photos or through a screen. They had a very special cuddle and were very happy to pose for some long awaited photos. Eileen was beaming all day and couldn’t wait to share her news with other residents!

Burns Night Celebrations

Residents have thoroughly enjoyed their Burns Night celebrations recently. Reading Robert Burns' poems, trying some haggis, as well as reading the traditional ‘ Address to the Haggis’. We also enjoyed a sing along with a guitar, singing well known Scottish songs such as Auld Lang Syne.

A great time was had by all.

Elvis Presley’s Day

On January 8th we celebrated the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll! The residents were treated to homemade Elvis cakes, sang to some of his greatest songs and reminisced of a well-loved era. As Elvis himself said “Do something worth remembering”.
