What our families say: Mo Dhachaidh Care Home

"My mother has recently moved to the care home after an extended stay in the hospital. The care home has been marvellous at getting to know her and helping her regain confidence in herself again. She has bad dementia but is cared for with endless patience by everyone involved in her care and that I feel very comforted by, the knowledge that she's being so well looked after."

"I have nothing but praise for the love and care my wife has experienced since she was taken into care on 15rth October 2019. I am given to understand that the Mo Dhachaidh Care home is experiencing a shortness of staff. If this is indeed the case it certainly doesn't affect the care she is, as far, experiencing. It is very reassuring to realise she is in safe and loving care."

"I would like to thank all the wonderful the staff, here in Ullapool for all the wonderful work they are doing. The care and attention to detail they give to their residents is second to none. I would say they are the best you could get anywhere. So kind to all the residents. I would just like to say a big thank you to each and every one of them."

"Excellent, welcoming, caring environment. Always immaculately clean rooms and public areas, staff are extremely friendly and will give help and assistance whenever needed. Kind and friendly to all residents, Christmas was a family time for all. The kitchen provides excellent food which we join for lunch, frequently speaking to the chef. Alternative treats, especially following mothers hospital stay when she fancied sweet and sour with rice. As my mother approached her death nothing was too much trouble, with resident nurse always popping in and GP's visiting daily. Staff sat with her throughout her last days and nights."

"Friendly staff. My father's room could possibly a bit cleaner. I know he doesn't like things to be cleaned though so I realise this could be a hindrance. Thank you."

"My mother-in-law has been a resident for 18 months. In that time she has blossomed in her well-being. Although her dementia has worsened she is involved in most of the activities. Concerts, singing, pottery classes- art classes. When available the staff take her for a short walk around grounds if she is restless. We as a family are comforted to know that she is well cared for."

"Since my brother-in-law has moved into your care home in Ullapool, I have found out what wonderful staff work in the home. The most caring people who put the residents first all the time. I was worried about him going into the home, but after I visited the place for myself I had no worries. The staff are all the best you can get in one building. I have nothing but praise and admiration for all the staff and all they do. They are the best you can get!"

"As a regular visitor to the care home, I always find the residents happy and comfortable in their environment. This I believe to be the result of the staff's approach to individuals in their care and the friendly yet professional standards they adopt. I receive a warm welcome at all times as do all visitors."

"My husband cannot live alone anymore. We are separated and he has dementia and other ailments. He hated being in the home at first but the staff were wonderful and patient with him. Now he is settled, and I have no stress or worries."
