Activities at Marnel Lodge Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Marek Manteufel & Theresa Connor

Every day is different and to understand the needs of our residents, building relationship with them and keeping in touch with their families and friends, is the most important and rewarding job we could have wish for.

Chocolate Day
Here it comes, the most sweet day of the year: Chocolate Day at Marnel. There were lots of different selections from all over the world and never forgotten chocolate fountain. It was such an enjoyable time with lots of fun and happiness!
Musical Talent
Resident, Irene, noticed piano in our coffee shop and could not resist playing. Irene used to play piano almost every day and made us feel honoured to listen to such wonderful notes from the greatest composers. Everyone was so mesmerised and amazed. Thank you, Irene for your great talent and inspiration!
Many Happy Returns
On Monday 24th June, after lots of planning and preparation, we surprised our very much loved resident, Dorothy, with a big party to celebrate her 100th birthday. Dorothy was so pleased to see family and friends, and enjoyed a huge cake and lots of gifts. One particular gift Dorothy adored: it was a pear tree given by local church, which we happily planted in our garden.
Garden Entertainment
Amanda, our beloved singer, returned to our home after many months of lockdown. It was such a fun and happy sunny day for Marnel’s family. More to come…
International Nurses' Day
On 12th May, we celebrated a very important day: International Nurses' Day and their incredible effort in such a difficult time.
VE Day Celebrations
Our well-being and care team, as well as residents and at Marnel, have made such an incredible effort to celebrate VE Day. Marek and Maggie ensured that our residents had a plenty of engagement and activities to celebrate as. We also had a great indoor BBQ with drinks and fun.
