Activities at Llys-Y-Tywysog Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Hello I am Paula the Activities Coordinator, I have recently returned to Llys-Y-Tywysog. I worked at the home for over 5 years when my children were younger. My close connection with Llys remained as my father in law was former resident, so I was still visiting regularly. I am delighted to be back working with the team.
I am creative and hope to bring new ideas for activities and events as well as still running firm favourites! My passion is about enhancing the lives of the residents from individual time through to big celebratory events. Sarah will continue to work as part of the activities team, working alongside me part time whilst studying for her degree at Swansea University. As a team we are committed to Barchester's Life Enrichment programme ensuring we work with mind, body and soul.

Llys-Y-Tywysog Welcomes New Hairdresser
Residents were delighted to welcome our new hairdresser Karen today. Karen will be with us twice a week in the hairdressing salon.
Home Made Cream Tea
Who doesn't love a cream tea?! With such talented bakers we knew the scones would be delicious. The residents thoroughly enjoyed relaxing enjoying their bakes, some with tea and some with wine!

Happy 100th Birthday Betty
We have all had such a fantastic day today celebrating Betty’s 100th birthday! Betty's day started with a pamper morning in the salon, followed by family visit in the garden. We all then enjoyed a buffet lunch in the dining room before the fantastic Carol entertained in the garden, while residents enjoyed wine in the sunshine.
The excitement doesn’t end there on Saturday morning Betty, along with Des and Kitty will be live on BBC Radio Wales Money for Nothing with Owen Money. There will be Betty’s song choice featured along with a chat with the residents.

Nutrition and Hydration Week
Nutrition and Hydration Week is an annual event to understand the importance of nutrition and hydration in a social care setting. Llys-Y-Tywysog chef Andy and his team ensure residents have a balanced diet and the whole team ensure residents have regular drinks. We often have activities based on food as well including making smoothies and as we did this week fruit kebabs.
Garden Games in Glorious Weather
What a glorious weekend! Our residents enjoyed some outdoor games, firm favorites Jenga and Quoits were played whilst chatting in the sunshine.
